The American company LMT Defense was founded in 1980 in Iowa, i.e. the state of John Wayne, and has already been in existence for half a century. Since its inception, it has been a supplier of quality weapons and their accessories for armies and individual shooting enthusiasts.
The Lewis Machine & Toolo Company, or LMT Defense, has been bringing innovations to the market in the form of long firearms and accessories since its inception. After all, several successful contracts for various armed forces around the world speak of its competences. Namely, it concerns the armies of the following states:
Individual models of LMT Defense brand rifles are designed for demanding conditions, and as such they are modified. For example, the company produces a patented bolt design for the AR-15 platform with a redesigned extractor to make it easier to extract cartridges in adverse conditions. The company can also make a redesigned bolt carrier.
However, the manufacturer offers various other specialties, such as the Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP), which is nothing more than the upper receiver forged from a single piece of aluminum, which is again intended for the AR-15 platform and uses a classic Picatinny rail.
The company LMT Defense has also developed its own modular weapon system, which in its submission bears the designation MARS. It stands for Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System. It is available in light (MARS-L) and heavy (MARS-H) variants. It is the MARS rifles that are the most popular among contractual partners from among the armed forces.
The flagship in our range of products from the American company LMT Defense is the L129A1 rifle in .308 Win caliber with a 16-inch barrel. This is a very accurate self-loading rifle, which is equipped with the aforementioned monolithic MRP stock with incredible stiffness and toughness, while still having a free-floating barrel. At the same time, the stock is equipped with a system for quick exchange of the barrel. In addition, a set of folding sights is included and the weapon is part of the MARS system, so it is suitable for both right- and left-handed users thanks to the double-sided, mirror-positioned controls.
